Description For Applied Scientist, Neuron ARG

The Automated Reasoning Group in the AWS Neuron Compiler team is seeking an Applied Scientist to work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and program analysis. Your role will involve optimizing application models across diverse domains, including Large Language and Vision, from frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX. You'll work with custom-built Machine Learning accelerators, Inferentia and Trainium, which are at the forefront of AWS innovation for advanced ML capabilities and Generative AI.

As an Applied Scientist, you will:

  • Design, develop, and deploy analyzers for ML compiler stages and compiler IRs
  • Architect and implement business-critical tooling
  • Publish cutting-edge research
  • Mentor a team of experienced scientists and engineers
  • Tackle crucial challenges in compiler technology and deep-learning systems software

Required qualifications:

  • PhD, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in CS, CE, ML, or related field
  • 3+ years of building models for business applications
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
  • Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional software development experience
  • Publication record in automated reasoning or compiler construction
  • Knowledge of interactive theorem provers like Lean
  • Experience with heuristic search, e.g., fuzzers

Base pay range: $136,000/year to $222,200/year, depending on geographic market and other factors. Total compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits.
