Description For Cloud Support Engineer I (Linux)

AWS Support Engineering Team (formerly Premium Support) is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer specializing in Linux to provide technical assistance to customers utilizing AWS cloud services. The role focuses on helping customers with their innovation through technical support, handling various use cases, and contributing to service improvements. The team provides 24/7 Japanese technical support through web forms, phone, and chat. Working in a global team across different time zones, there's no need for night shifts, and work-life harmony is prioritized. The position involves working with Linux environments, virtualization, storage, and cloud migration services. Engineers will have access to AWS service source code, can freely use AWS services for learning, and work with talented engineers worldwide. The role requires strong technical skills in Linux and related areas, as well as excellent communication abilities in both Japanese and English (reading/writing). The position offers opportunities for growth, collaboration with global teams, and direct customer impact.

Responsibilities For Cloud Support Engineer I (Linux)

Requirements For Cloud Support Engineer I (Linux)

Linux
  • Experience in managing and operating application stacks on Linux/UNIX systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting and implementing improvement plans for services running on Linux/UNIX systems
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls
  • Excellent Japanese communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • English communication skills (reading and writing)
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts between 7:00 and 21:00, including weekend rotations
