Description For Controls Engineer, EMEA Controls

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is at the heart of keeping the cloud running, managing all AWS global infrastructure. As a Controls Engineer in the Data Center Global Services team, you'll be responsible for building automation systems within Amazon data centers, focusing on BMS (Building Management System) and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System).

The role involves working with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating across AWS to maintain the highest standards for safety and security. You'll be part of the Implementation Controls organization, where you'll manage and deploy control systems in AWS data centers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing building automation systems and control platforms
  • Coordinating with AWS DCEO teams for new builds and upgrades
  • Ensuring high availability and resilience of control systems
  • Developing control panel BOMs and ISA data sheets
  • Creating technical drawings and logic diagrams
  • Performing system inspections, testing, and commissioning

The Central EU Controls team operates across multiple clusters including ZAZ, CDG, MxP, and ZRH, requiring occasional travel for support and training. You'll be part of AWS's innovative culture that values diverse experiences and work-life harmony.

Responsibilities For Controls Engineer, EMEA Controls

  • Deploy and maintain BMS (Building Management System) & EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System)
  • Coordinate with AWS DCEO teams for new builds and upgrades
  • Manage project engineering and determine scope of work
  • Develop control panel BOMs and ISA data sheets
  • Create technical drawings and logic diagrams
  • Perform system inspections, testing, and commissioning
  • Provide technical assistance to internal customers
  • Coordinate project work internally and externally

Requirements For Controls Engineer, EMEA Controls

Linux
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or related engineering degrees
  • Three years in BMS or EPMS Controls related experience
  • Understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC
  • Windows Skill Set
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally
