This role within the Infrastructure Operations (Data Center) Team is crucial for maintaining AWS's physical infrastructure and ensuring 24/7 operational excellence.
As a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing critical facilities, implementing maintenance procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of AWS data centers. You'll work with state-of-the-art infrastructure, handling everything from electrical and mechanical systems to fire/life safety equipment.
The position offers a unique blend of technical challenges and leadership opportunities. You'll be managing vendor relationships, coordinating with multiple teams, and responding to critical incidents. Responsibilities For Data Centre Engineering Operations (Level 4), Infraops
- Act as site primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage planned and unplanned site works for critical infrastructure
- On-site management of contractors and vendors
- Establish performance benchmarks and prepare reports on facility infrastructure operations
- Generate change management requests & incident management tickets
- Coordinate projects and manage capacity with various teams
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
- Perform rack installs, decommissioning, and facility MEP management
- Oversee maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
Requirements For Data Centre Engineering Operations (Level 4), Infraops
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining DC or Critical space facility
- Familiar with Service Management systems concepts
- Ability to participate in 24x7 rotating shift roster
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data center environment
- Experience in vendor/contractor management
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree preferred
