Description For System Development Engineer, Bus S&Flight Operations, Kuiper

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). As a System Development Engineer in the Bus S&Flight Operations team, you'll be at the forefront of bringing fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

The role combines software development with hardware integration, requiring expertise in both domains. You'll be responsible for developing critical tools for satellite validation and testing, supporting hardware bring-up, and implementing software systems for satellite provisioning. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge space technology while making a meaningful impact on global connectivity.

Working within Amazon's Project Kuiper, you'll collaborate with diverse teams across the organization, from hardware engineers to software developers. The role requires strong technical skills in Java and Python, along with hands-on experience in hardware lab environments. Your work will directly contribute to the success of one of the most ambitious satellite communications projects in history.

The compensation is highly competitive, ranging from $89,200 to $185,000 based on location, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers who want to combine their software expertise with hardware systems while working on a project with global impact.

The position requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency due to export control regulations, reflecting the strategic nature of the technology involved. You'll be joining a team that values innovation, technical excellence, and the mission of bridging the digital divide through advanced satellite technology.
