Description For Data Engineer, Application Ecosystem

Google Cloud's App Ecosystem (AppEco) team is seeking a Data Engineer to join their mission of empowering customers to build secure and reliable applications. As a Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in building and maintaining data infrastructure that drives business intelligence and decision-making. The role involves close collaboration with Product teams, data infrastructure partners, and business stakeholders to ensure data accessibility and accuracy.

You'll be responsible for designing and implementing data access policies, building scalable data pipelines, and ensuring data quality through robust validation processes. The position requires expertise in data warehousing, SQL, and experience with various data processing technologies. You'll work within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), utilizing services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Data Catalog.

The ideal candidate brings 5 years of experience in data engineering, with strong skills in pipeline design, dimensional data modeling, and programming. Responsibilities For Data Engineer, Application Ecosystem

  • Define and implement data access policies for AppEco, ensuring data security and compliance with GCP standards
  • Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines
  • Implement data validation and monitoring processes
  • Work with data infrastructure partners to ensure data availability and completeness
  • Collaborate with Product teams on product instrumentation for business intelligence

Requirements For Data Engineer, Application Ecosystem

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math), or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience designing data pipelines, and dimensional data modeling for synchronous and asynchronous system integration
  • 5 years of experience working with data infrastructure and data models using SQL
  • 5 years of experience coding in one or more programming languages
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies, such as BigQuery
