Senior Software Engineer, GenAI and ML, Computational Photography

Google's Pixel team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in GenAI and ML for Computational Photography. This role focuses on developing next-generation technologies that will shape the future of Pixel devices and services.

The ideal candidate will work on designing Generative models for image quality, producing Generative merge for multi-camera fusion and video quality, and utilizing fundamentals of photorealism and authenticity in Generative AI. They will also be involved in capturing 3D assets with motion and depth to increase immersion, and working with capture hardware (i.e., sensors and optics) with unique capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing Generative models for image quality
• Producing Generative merge for multi-camera fusion and video quality
• Utilizing fundamentals of photorealism and authenticity in Generative AI
• Capturing 3D assets with motion and depth to increase immersion
• Working with capture hardware (sensors and optics) with unique capabilities

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8 years of experience in software development and with data structures/algorithms
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
• Experience in Generative AI (e.g., Large Language Models, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models)
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning, natural language processing, or other ML disciplines

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, experience with design and optimization of algorithms in performance-constrained environments, knowledge of modern deep learning techniques and Generative AI for photography, and the ability to contribute to research communities.
