The ideal candidate will lead efforts to keep creators and fans safe, managing a cross-functional team of engineers and analysts. With 5+ years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams and 2+ years in Trust & Safety, you'll execute an impactful safety roadmap, leverage data for strategic clarity, and collaborate across functions to shape Patreon's safety culture. Responsibilities For Senior Engineering Manager, Trust & Safety
- Lead efforts to keep creators and fans safe
- Manage a cross-functional team of Trust & Safety fullstack engineers, machine learning engineers and a data analyst
- Execute on an impactful safety roadmap
- Leverage data to provide strategic clarity and uncover operational wins
- Coach and mentor team members and help grow their careers
- Collaborate with cross-functional peers to craft a clear strategy and roadmap for safety at Patreon
- Advocate and represent team's work in company-wide forums
- Contribute to shaping overall safety investments and culture at the company
Requirements For Senior Engineering Manager, Trust & Safety
- 5+ years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams
- 2+ years in the Trust & Safety domain, either as an IC or in a managerial role
- Strong analytical skills with a rigorous, scientific approach to learning and decision-making
- Excellent communication and prioritization skills
- Growth mindset and aspiration to continuously improve skills
- Ability to build trust and foster psychological safety within team and with cross-functional partners
- Remain deeply technical and able to provide technical guidance to the team
- Energized about protecting users from harm and abuse, and fostering a safe community at Patreon
