Description For Mechanical Engineer

Vector Atomic is at the forefront of quantum technology innovation, developing cutting-edge devices for GPS-free navigation, timing, geophysical exploration, and telecommunications. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be integral to our mission of creating practical quantum sensors and devices. The role combines hands-on mechanical design with quantum technology applications, requiring expertise in CAD, particularly SolidWorks, and experience in transitioning prototypes to production.

You'll work in a collaborative environment with physicists and engineers, designing opto-mechanical and vacuum systems essential for quantum sensors. The position demands strong technical skills in mechanical design, including DFM/DFA principles, GD&T, and ANSI Y14.5 standards. You'll be responsible for integrating optical mounts, laser packaging, and electromechanical assemblies, while also managing component procurement and documentation.

We offer a competitive compensation package ranging from $85,000 to $135,000, including comprehensive benefits like platinum-level family health coverage, 401(k) contributions, and stock ownership opportunities. Our employee-owned company values work-life balance, providing 20 days PTO and 10 paid holidays.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience, a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and must be a U.S. Person due to export control laws. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer passionate about quantum technology and ready to contribute to groundbreaking innovations in a rapidly growing field.
