Case studies are valuable to (1) realize that you are not alone and (2) learn from the experiences of others and see what you can apply.

We’ll start with a new grad Amazon engineer who joined during the pandemic.

• Before: First job out of college, was on Focus after 6 months

• During: Shocked when they found out (URA quota suspected). Manager became more “HR-like”, less candid

• After: Went through the PIP and failed, even though they showed improvement
