Lee McKeeman is an autistic software engineer with quite an incredible journey: Across a whopping ~20 years of experience, Lee has worked at Amazon (where he was an engineering manager and bar raiser), Meta, and now Google.
In this session, Lee will talk about his journey from software analyst all the way to becoming a Staff Engineer [L6] at Google. In particular, he'll talk about some of the ways autism both helped and hurt him, how it was a superpower sometimes and a liability in others.
Lee will also talk about how you can be an ally to autistic engineers and other neurodivergent folks in the industry.
