The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering of automation and life sciences instrumentation, with hands-on experience in SolidWorks and PDM software. This role involves designing and developing mechanical components for life science instrumentation, including pneumatic systems, electro-mechanical parts, and automated fluid handling systems. The engineer will work on taking new products from concept to manufacturing, collaborating with various engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include designing pneumatic systems for microfluidic management, developing instrument components, coordinating with other engineering functions, and managing both internal and external product development efforts. The role requires proficiency in SolidWorks, ARENA, and EPDM, as well as understanding of GD&T, statistical tolerance analysis, and basic thermal and fluid dynamics.
The ideal candidate should have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, familiarity with manufacturing techniques, and experience in supplier engagement.
