Senior Platforms Engineer

2K Games, founded in 2005, is a global video game company publishing titles from influential game development studios. The 2K Platforms team is responsible for operations, engineering, and architecture of on-premise data centers, including networking, virtualization, and storage. They handle DDOS protection, CDNs, and GTM spanning multiple datacenters, both terrestrial and cloud-based.

We are seeking an expert engineer passionate about building multi-datacenter infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will have robust systems and problem-solving skills to develop solutions for game studios and support data centers worldwide. This role involves collaborating with network engineers, systems architects, and development staff to support gamers and business needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building and operating highly resilient systems in a multi-datacenter and cloud global environment
• Developing tools for management and automation of systems and service infrastructure
• Defining and implementing standards for systems, services, and multiple cloud environments
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
• Participating in Platforms on-call rotation

The ideal candidate should be eager to work in a fast-paced environment with highly skilled engineers passionate about service availability and health. Experience in building data center infrastructure services from greenfield to implementation is highly valued.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of demonstrated influence across teams for large-scale projects
• 4+ years of experience as a Platforms or System engineer for online services in multi-region, multi-cloud environments
• 4+ years of developing automation tools
• 2+ years of AWS and/or GCP cloud experience with highly elastic mission-critical workloads
• 4+ years of system engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi)
• Extensive knowledge of storage services, virtualization, Windows server OS, and Linux
• Experience with system analysis and troubleshooting
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

Bonus skills include experience with large-scale virtual environments, NetApp, Pure or VMware vSAN, designing IaC for network and systems, debugging, code optimization, and routine task automation.
