Description For Certified Engineer

Able Services, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is seeking a Certified Engineer to join their team in El Segundo, CA. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $52.55 and includes comprehensive union benefits.

The Certified Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of all building systems. This position involves extensive work with HVAC operations, mechanical systems, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various facility equipment, from boilers and refrigeration systems to electrical motors and sanitary systems.

Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining complex HVAC systems, handling preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring energy-efficient operations through seasonal adjustments. The position requires strong technical expertise in building systems maintenance, including work with boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, and electrical systems.

Qualified candidates should possess formal HVAC knowledge, relevant state/local licenses, and experience with building automation systems. The position requires both technical expertise and practical hands-on experience in facility maintenance and operations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, offering a stable work environment with a reputable company.

Responsibilities For Certified Engineer

  • Operate, maintain, and repair all boilers, heaters, pumps, valves and steam distribution systems
  • Operate, maintain and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, and evaporators
  • Maintain and repair electrical power distribution and auxiliaries
  • Operate and maintain air compressors and distribution lines
  • Maintain and repair sanitary sewer systems
  • Maintain all equipment per Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Maintain proper operation during seasonal changes
  • Maintain Life/Safety and security systems

Requirements For Certified Engineer

Linux
  • Formal knowledge of HVAC Components
  • Experience commensurate with facility requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Highest-level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC
  • Universal level refrigerant recovery license
  • Computer skills and building automation systems experience
  • OSHA ACM awareness training certification
  • EPA 608 Certification (preferred)
