ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is seeking a Chief Building Engineer to oversee all maintenance and repair activities of mechanical and electrical systems within their properties. This senior-level position offers a competitive salary of $66.11 per hour and includes comprehensive union benefits through BOMA Local501.
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of progressive operations experience in commercial office buildings, with expertise in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Responsibilities For Chief Building Engineer
- Supervise maintenance operations and physical condition of the property
- Manage maintenance operations including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, and preventive maintenance
- Regular inspection and evaluation of physical condition of the asset
- Work closely with other departments to ensure high level of customer satisfaction
- Order materials and complete work assignments on time
- Manage painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, mechanical maintenance activities
- Oversee compliance with OSHA standards
- Supervise and motivate maintenance staff
- Establish work procedures and resolve work problems
- Ensure property compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Requirements For Chief Building Engineer
- 5+ years of engineering experience at a chief or supervisory level
- Highest-level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC
- Universal level refrigerant recovery license
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Computer skills and building automation systems experience
- OSHA ACM awareness training certification
- Working knowledge of energy conservation
- Experience in commercial office buildings
- Strong employee relation skills, coaching skills, and training skills
