Description For Chief Engineer

Responsibilities For Chief Engineer

  • Supervise maintenance operations and physical condition of the property
  • Manage refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance systems
  • Inspect and evaluate physical condition of the asset
  • Order materials and complete work assignments
  • Manage painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, mechanical maintenance activities
  • Oversee compliance with OSHA standards
  • Supervise and motivate maintenance staff
  • Ensure property compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Assist in capital budgeting
  • Establish work procedures and resolve work problems

Requirements For Chief Engineer

  • 5+ years progressive operations experience
  • Highest-level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC
  • Universal level refrigerant recovery license
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Computer skills and building automation systems experience
  • OSHA ACM awareness training certification
  • Working knowledge of energy conservation
