ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is seeking a Journeyman Building Engineer to support daily operations of building systems. This role involves comprehensive facility maintenance including HVAC operations, mechanical and electrical systems, and responding to customer needs. The position offers competitive compensation ($44.36 - $52.55 per hour) and works Sunday - Thursday 2p - 10p.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various building systems including boilers, refrigeration units, air compressors, electrical motors, and plumbing systems. They will ensure proper operation during seasonal changes and maintain equipment according to preventive maintenance schedules.
The position requires extensive knowledge of HVAC components, ability to read blueprints, and relevant state/local licenses. Experience with building automation systems and various certifications including EPA 608 are essential. Responsibilities For Journeyman Engineer
- Operate, maintain and repair all boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and steam distribution systems
- Operate, maintain and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, and temperature control systems
- Operate, maintain and repair air compressors and distribution systems
- Maintain and repair electrical power distribution systems
- Maintain proper operation during seasonal changes
- Maintain all equipment per Preventive Maintenance Program
- Maintain Life/Safety and security systems
- Operate, maintain and repair water filters, piping and pumps
- Maintain and repair kitchen equipment
- Respond to customer requests and submit work orders
Requirements For Journeyman Engineer
- Formal knowledge of HVAC Components
- Experience commensurate with facility requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC
- Universal level refrigerant recovery license
- Computer skills and building automation systems experience
- OSHA ACM awareness training certification
- EPA 608 Certification (preferred)
