The Gates/Doors Mechanical Engineer at ABM has overall responsibility for all aspects of gates/doors functionality and operation within client mission critical facilities. This role is the primary ABM point of contact for gates and doors within specific clients' facilities. The engineer will create an unwavering attitude and commitment to safety and reliability within Mission Critical environments and drive continual improvements and innovations to business operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all aspects of the Mission Critical Facility's critical physical infrastructure, including automated gates and roll-up doors
- Ensuring high-quality work within mission-critical spaces without impacting customers
- Managing MOP, SOP, and EOP programs related to gates and doors
- Designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems for gates and industrial roll-up doors
- Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical issues
- Integrating automation and control systems for gates and industrial roll-up doors
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Conducting site inspections and assessments
- Overseeing installation processes and providing technical training
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent 5-7+ years of experience in mission-critical operations environments
- 5+ years of electrical experience
- Electro-Mechanical Controls Experience
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., ANSI, ASTM, ISO)
- Experience in manufacturing and installation of gates and industrial roll-up doors
- Understanding of automation and control systems
This role offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $140,000 per year, with potential for participation in company incentive or bonus programs. ABM provides a comprehensive benefits package. The position requires 25% travel.
