Backend Engineer, Temporal (Staff/Senior)

As a Backend Engineer, Temporal (Staff/Senior) at Abridge, you'll join a growing US-based engineering team to build data and processing foundations supporting our continued growth. You'll work primarily in Typescript and Node, deploying on platforms like Kubernetes and Temporal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and support robust cloud-native applications, services, and APIs
• Research solutions and make build vs buy recommendations
• Enhance existing systems for new functionality, performance, stability, quality, and security
• Build user empathy and maintain a user-centric mindset
• Communicate effectively within cross-functional product delivery teams

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with several years in scaling cloud-native systems
• Experience building and deploying complex backend systems using Temporal
• Passion for engineering excellence and love for data and architecture
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST)
• Knowledge of industry best practices and trends
• Willingness to work in San Francisco or New York on a hybrid basis (2-3 days/week in office)
