Description For Senior Platform Engineer

Acceldata, a pioneer in data observability, is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their innovative team. The company is revolutionizing how enterprises manage and observe data across various environments, serving global customers like HPE, HSBC, Visa, and Workday.

As a Platform Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing crucial internal tools and Linux CLI applications, similar to kubectl and docker-cli. Your role involves extending Go-based tools with plugins and creating web applications that integrate seamlessly with customer APIs and services. This position requires expertise in Go programming, with a focus on frameworks like Cobra and Gin.

The ideal candidate brings 2-5 years of experience, with strong knowledge in Go programming paradigms, RESTful web services, and both relational and non-relational databases. Experience with DevOps tools like Docker/Kubernetes and Linux system application development is essential. Proficiency in Big Data Systems or Hadoop components is a plus.

Responsibilities For Senior Platform Engineer

  • Develop internal tools and Linux CLI applications
  • Extend Go-based tools with plugins
  • Build web applications to integrate tools with customer APIs and services
  • Develop and extend Linux command-line applications similar to kubectl, docker-cli and aws-cli
  • Develop plugins to extend functionalities of Telegraf, Filebeat etc.
  • Create web applications to chain internal tools with customer APIs/services

Requirements For Senior Platform Engineer

  • 2-5 years of total experience
  • Hands-on experience in Go programming language paradigms, constructs and idioms
  • Experience with Golang frameworks such as Cobra, Gin or HashiCorp's Go-Plugin
  • Understanding of Go-specific data structures & algorithms, RESTful web services
  • Experience in relational & non-relational databases
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience in Linux and system application development
  • Proficiency in Big Data Systems or Hadoop components (bonus)
