Description For Azure Cloud Engineer Specialist

As an Azure Cloud Engineer Specialist, you will be at the forefront of tackling complex cloud computing challenges within our IT cloud backlog. Your role will encompass design, planning, management, and support, helping AFS IT develop solutions to IT challenges and championing our vision to transition from on-premises to cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate within an agile team to solve complex problems in Azure Commercial, Azure Gov, and OnPrem infrastructures • Stay current with cloud technology and learn new technologies quickly • Design and deploy secure Cloud services in a high-performance production environment • Support Cloud and OnPrem Infrastructure from both an Engineering and Operations perspective • Work independently on assigned tasks while also excelling in a cross-team environment • Contribute actively to workstreams and communicate progress effectively • Handle both engineering stories from an agile board and operational tasks from a ticketing queue

Requirements: • US Citizenship and ability to work on US soil • 2+ years of experience in Azure Cloud implementation (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) • 3+ years of experience in Windows Server administration (Server 2019, 2022 preferred) • Strong communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships • Willingness to be on call as needed

Preferred Qualifications: • Azure Administrator and/or Architecture Certification • Experience migrating on-premises systems to the cloud • Familiarity with Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Network, Compute, and Storage systems • Experience with Windows Server configuration, Hyper-V, Azure ARC, and Azure Automation • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Bicep preferred) • Experience implementing STIGs (NIST, DISA, CIS) • Familiarity with on-premises infrastructure (SAN, DAS, Host configurations)
