Description For Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer at Accenture Federal Services, you will play a crucial role in developing new tools, code, and services to execute data engineering activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Moving structured and unstructured data using approved methods
  2. Executing data ingestion activities for storing data in local or enterprise-level locations
  3. Developing code to format data for exploration and analysis
  4. Analyzing source data formats and collaborating with Data Scientists and partners to determine optimal formats and transformations
  5. Implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) code and best practices/standards
  6. Developing ETL Code Transition Plans and documentation for each project
  7. Facilitating Code Reviews
  8. Providing consulting services to support data transport, ingestion, conditioning, access, and management

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or software development
  • Expertise in ETL tools and processes
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash/shell scripting, and Linux

Additional skills that would be beneficial include:

  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes/Docker, Jenkins, Hadoop/Spark, Kibana, Kafka, NiFi, ElasticSearch, and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with various data types and formats (text, audio, imagery, video, binary, and geospatial)
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field

This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph, emphasizing the importance of security in our work with federal clients.
