Description For Enterprise Data Engineer

Accenture Federal Services is seeking an Enterprise Data Engineer to join their team of 13,000+ professionals dedicated to serving US federal government agencies. This role combines technical expertise in data engineering with mission-critical impact for defense, national security, and public safety organizations.

As an Enterprise Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and optimizing data pipelines using modern technologies like Spark, Apache Iceberg, Trino, and Kubernetes. You'll work with both cloud and on-premises solutions, ensuring data security and accessibility while maintaining high standards of data governance.

The position requires strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and data engineering tools, combined with the ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to enterprise-wide data initiatives. You'll be involved in everything from ETL development to performance tuning and providing recommendations for tool improvements.

This role offers competitive compensation ($108,500 - $214,300) and comprehensive benefits. The position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance, reflecting the important nature of the work. You'll be based in Tysons Corner, VA, working with a team that's passionate about using technology to advance government missions.

Responsibilities For Enterprise Data Engineer

  • Design and optimize Data Pipelines using Spark, Apache Iceberg, Trino, OpenSearch, Lucene, EMR cloud services, NiFi and Kubernetes containers
  • Ensure the pedigree and provenance of the data is maintained
  • Clean and preprocess data to enable access for advanced analytics
  • Collaborate with enterprise working groups to advance data standards
  • Collaborate with engineering team, data stewards, and mission partners
  • Update, configure, and maintain data services based on requirements
  • Conduct quarterly analysis and provide recommendations for data tools
  • Provide support including administration and performance tuning of data tools

Requirements For Enterprise Data Engineer

Python
Kubernetes
  • 4+ years of experience with data engineering
  • Experience with data lifecycle engineering and ETL tools and services
  • Experience with Cloud and on-prem data storage and processing solutions
  • Experience with data engineering programming (Python, SQL, Spark or similar)
  • Experience with COTS and open-source data engineering tools like ElasticSearch, NiFi
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
  • Bachelors degree (preferred)
