Description For Information System Security Engineer

Accenture Federal Services is seeking an experienced Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to join their team in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role is crucial in helping the US federal government strengthen national security and improve public services through technology and innovation.

As an ISSE, you'll be responsible for performing and reviewing technical security assessments of computing environments, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending mitigation strategies. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Validating and verifying system security requirements and establishing security designs
  2. Designing, developing, and implementing IA and security systems for various computing environments
  3. Building IA into operational systems
  4. Assisting in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality
  5. Supporting security architecture development
  6. Enforcing trusted relations among external systems and architectures
  7. Assessing and mitigating security threats throughout the program lifecycle
  8. Contributing to security planning, risk analysis, and certification activities
  9. Reviewing certification and accreditation documentation
  10. Supporting security authorization activities in compliance with client processes and frameworks

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 14+ years of experience as an ISSE on similar programs and contracts
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or 18+ years of equivalent experience)
  • DoD 8570.01-M compliance with IASAE Level 2
  • CISSP Certification
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Responsibilities For Information System Security Engineer
