Site Reliability Engineer Intern

Actian, a leader in data management and analytics, is offering an exciting 12-week Summer Internship Program starting June 2nd, 2025. As a Site Reliability Engineer Intern, you'll join the Cloud Services & SRE team, focusing on strengthening security aspects of observability and monitoring infrastructure. The role involves working with experienced Site Reliability Engineers under direct supervision of the Senior SRE-Security team.

The internship features a comprehensive capstone project implementing security monitoring solutions in a Kubernetes environment, working with tools like Falco, Kube-bench, and Sysdig, while creating Grafana dashboards for security visualization. The program includes structured learning plans, a dedicated buddy system, and culminates in an Internship Showcase presentation.

Despite being remote, the internship offers rich experiences including social events (tie-dye shirt making, virtual campfires with s'mores, murder mystery parties), executive connection opportunities through panel discussions and 1:1s, professional development workshops, and a hybrid orientation with travel opportunities to the nearest office.

The ideal candidate should have understanding of observability tooling, security monitoring solutions, Kubernetes, and cloud security best practices. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), programming languages (Python, Bash), and tools like Grafana, Docker, and Terraform is beneficial. This role offers hands-on experience in security monitoring, dashboard creation, and Kubernetes observability while contributing to a well-documented security monitoring framework.
