Description For Computer Scientist-I

Adobe is seeking a Computer Scientist-I to join their Print & Scan group, a 100-million-dollar revenue division with 100% ownership across engineering, marketing, and product management. The role focuses on developing world-class embedded host technologies for printing, working with leading MFP and Printer manufacturers globally. The position involves deep domain expertise in PDF and PS, spanning multiple platforms and operating systems.

The team works on both expanding the reach of their existing portfolio and innovating new features, following the mantra "Experiment Often, Experiment Quickly, and Fail Cheap." The role offers a unique opportunity to work in a startup-like environment within Adobe, with the freedom to drive direction and resolve challenges.

The ideal candidate will contribute to major software releases, collaborate with product marketing, provide technical leadership, and help shape future product architecture. They will work across multiple print segments including Graphic Arts, Digital Printing, Wide Format, and Office Printing, implementing digital security in both Print & Scan workflows.

This position offers the chance to work with Adobe's patented Scan technology, generating high-quality, intelligent, searchable PDFs from scanned images. The role requires strong technical skills in C/C++, excellent computer science fundamentals, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced global environment.

Responsibilities For Computer Scientist-I

  • Contribute extensively in analysis, design, and programming for major and dot software releases
  • Collaborate with product marketing to evaluate and resolve new features
  • Develop methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
  • Provide leadership within division and mentor engineers
  • Act as specialist on platforms and cross-platform issues
  • Address broad architecture and design issues of future products
  • Provide strategic direction in evaluating new technologies

Requirements For Computer Scientist-I

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from an outstanding institute
  • 3.5 to 6.5 years of hands-on design/development experience
  • Proficient in C/C++ assembly, data structure, and algorithm
  • Good understanding of object-oriented design and knowledge of product life cycles
  • Knowledge of application development on multiple platforms including Windows and Macintosh
  • Excellent computer science fundamentals and understanding of architecture, design, and performance
  • Must be familiar with working in a fast-paced global environment
