Description For Engineering Program Manager

Adobe is seeking an Engineering Program Manager to drive large-scale programs in their Digital Media Platform. This role is crucial in enabling optimal customer experiences that allow business customers to get the most out of their Adobe relationship.

As an Engineering Program Manager at Adobe, you will be responsible for building and coordinating all aspects of programs, including detailed project plans, resource allocations, risk management, and status reporting. You'll need to maintain a deep, technical end-to-end understanding of the solutions being built, their dependencies, and impacts.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can lead intricate programs throughout the project lifecycle. You should be comfortable working with teams across various levels of the organization, from front-line team members to C-level executives. Your ability to identify and mitigate risks proactively will be crucial to the success of the programs you manage.

Key responsibilities include coordinating multiple concurrent programs of varying complexity, building materials for different organizational levels, and being a subject matter leader partnering with Product Management, Design, Engineering, Architecture, and QA teams. You'll need to be adept at understanding technical challenges and navigating through options that deliver the best customer experience.

To succeed in this role, you should have extensive program management experience on large-scale initiatives, knowledge of cloud-based software development, and experience with project management tools like Jira. A bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of solid experience are required.

Adobe offers a competitive salary range of $123,400 - $224,100 annually, with pay varying based on job location and experience. The company also provides short-term incentives through their Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) and potential long-term incentives in the form of new hire equity awards for certain roles.

Responsibilities For Engineering Program Manager

  • Build and coordinate all aspects of a program, including detailed project plans, resource allocations, risks/issues remediation, status reporting, prioritization
  • Maintain a deep, technical end-to-end understanding of the solution being built, its upstream and downstream dependencies and impacts
  • Be seen as a subject matter leader, and be the partner for Product Management, Design, Engineering, Architecture, QA
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent programs, varying in size/scope/complexity, spanning across several different teams and organizations
  • Build material(s) that can be consumed at various levels of the organization
  • Proactively identify risks in all assigned areas; work with teams and management to mitigate these risks
  • Actively engage and influence people at all levels: from front-line team members to VPs, SVPs, and C-level executives
  • Be steadfast in the pursuit of delivery excellence

Requirements For Engineering Program Manager

  • Self-motivated, curious and an ability to dive deep without being asked to understand business, product, and technical interplay
  • Very organized with outstanding attention to detail
  • Extensive program management experience on large scale initiatives
  • Knowledgeable of cloud-based software development, preferably in ecommerce, software licensing, payments and/or administration
  • Experienced in an always-on, services-based infrastructure/architecture
  • Comfortable in leading to closure system design and technical tradeoff discussions across multiple engineering teams
  • Experienced in leading across organizations in a matrixed, globally diverse workforce
  • Able to modulate the presentation of information based on the audience
  • Experienced with applications such as Jira, or other workload (Backlog) management tools and project management tools
  • Bachelor's degree / 8+ years of solid experience
