Senior Backend Engineer - Customer Journey Analytics

Adobe is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Customer Journey Analytics team in Bucharest, Romania. This role will contribute to the design and development of new features for Adobe Analytics and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), working with large-scale data processing using technologies like Java, Scala, and Spark. The ideal candidate will have strong algorithm and logical skills, experience with distributed applications, and proficiency in Java technologies/frameworks. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality, customer-centric solutions and participate in the engineering on-call schedule.

Key Responsibilities: • Contribute to design and new feature development • Develop and optimize data pipelines using Scala/Java, Spark, and Databricks • Ensure high availability and reliability of data pipelines • Manage multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Terraform / Pulumi • Conduct investigations to understand root causes of data misalignment • Research new technologies and keep up with Analytics market evolution • Participate in the engineering on-call schedule

Required Skills: • Strong algorithm and logical skills • Proven knowledge of Java technologies/frameworks • Experience in designing and developing scalable distributed applications • Experience with observability (monitoring, logging, tracing) • Proficiency in OOD and development/testing processes • Ability to research and become proficient in new technologies • Commitment to high-quality code and thorough testing

Preferred Skills: • Experience with data technologies (Hadoop, HBase, MapReduce, Iceberg, Kafka) • Scala and Spark knowledge • Experience with cloud providers, containers, and orchestrators • Experience with build management tools (preferably Jenkins) • Experience with monitoring solutions (New Relic, Datadog, Runscope, Prometheus, Grafana)
