At Ageras, we're at the forefront of FinTech innovation, transforming how entrepreneurs, freelancers, and SMEs handle their banking and administrative tasks. We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Platform squad focused on IAM & Billing, currently comprising 4 Software Engineers, 1 Engineering Manager, and 1 Product Manager.
Our engineering structure is organized into specialized teams: Product teams developing domain-specific features, Platform teams managing infrastructure and core services, and a Data team handling data pipelines. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies including Node.js, TypeScript, PHP, SQL, NoSQL, AWS, Docker, EventBridge, and CI/CD tools.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in designing and implementing scalable, secure access management and billing systems. Your responsibilities will range from building optimized platforms to promoting best development practices and maintaining high-quality documentation. We're looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js, and a solid understanding of clean code principles and microservices architecture.
The ideal candidate will have experience in regulated sectors like banking, familiarity with event-driven design, and cloud environments. You'll be joining a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your technical expertise will directly impact the future of FinTech solutions. Responsibilities For Senior Backend Engineer - Platform
- Building and optimizing platforms focused on user and access management, billing, and ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency
- Contributing to unified technical architecture and aligning technical domains
- Writing efficient, reusable code, performing tests, and participating in code reviews
- Promoting best development practices such as domain-driven design, clean code, pair programming, and mentoring
- Collaborating with domain and platform teams to design, develop, and implement efficient applications
- Maintaining detailed, high-quality internal documentation
Requirements For Senior Backend Engineer - Platform
- 5+ years of experience in a similar technical environment
- Highly proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, particularly with Node.js and/or Nest.js
- Solid expertise in clean code principles, microservices architecture, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Familiar with event-driven design principles (event sourcing, CQRS, pub/sub patterns)
- Hands-on expertise working in Cloud environments like AWS or GCP
- Good understanding of product and design challenges
- Experience in highly regulated sectors like banking or insurance (preferred)
- Comfortable working in English
- Keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
