Description For Engineering Manager, Guest Displays and Platform

Airbnb, founded in 2007, has grown from hosting three guests in San Francisco to facilitating over 1 billion guest arrivals globally through 4 million hosts. The Guest Displays & Platforms team is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their core product experience team. This role focuses on managing the product details page (PDP) for Stays and Experiences, along with Pricing & Availability capabilities across guest-facing surfaces.

The position offers a unique opportunity to impact Airbnb's core business by leading engineering planning and delivery of guest-facing features. You'll work at the intersection of multiple crucial teams including Search, Checkout, Listings, Payments, and Trust, ensuring a seamless user experience. The role requires both technical depth and leadership skills, as you'll be responsible for building and nurturing a strong, diverse engineering team.

As Engineering Manager, you'll split your time between technical leadership and people management. Your days will involve collaborating with product and design teams, making strategic technical decisions, and mentoring team members. The role requires someone who can balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality, while fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

This remote-eligible position offers competitive compensation ($204,000 - $259,000), with the flexibility to work from home while maintaining occasional office visits for team collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring 9+ years of software development experience, including 3-5 years of engineering management, with expertise in both backend and client systems. If you're passionate about building products that connect people and enable authentic travel experiences, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact at a global scale.
