Manager, Engineering - Web Platform

Airbnb is seeking a Manager for their Web Platform team to lead and shape the future of their web development infrastructure. The role focuses on empowering engineers within their TypeScript monorepo by providing foundational libraries, frameworks, and tools for development, testing, and release. The Web Platform team serves as a crucial bridge between product engineers and platform-agnostic infrastructure teams, while maintaining codebase health.

The position involves managing a team that handles testing frameworks, developer environments, bundler implementations, CI jobs, client libraries for observability, editor integrations, and web service frameworks. Your work will directly impact the productivity of 400+ web engineers at Airbnb. The team has a strong track record of innovation, having successfully implemented projects like Bazel adoption, React upgrades, Metro JavaScript builds, and TypeScript migration tools.

As a manager, you'll partner with tech leads to develop team strategy, mentor engineers, and drive projects that enhance developer productivity. The role requires strong technical background in web technologies, leadership experience, and the ability to balance technical debt with innovation. You'll work in a remote-friendly environment while maintaining connection with Airbnb's strong engineering culture.

The compensation package includes a competitive base salary range of $204,000 to $259,000 USD, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.
