Senior Android Engineer, Guest & Host

Airbnb, founded in 2007, has grown from hosting three guests in San Francisco to facilitating over 1 billion guest arrivals globally. As a Senior Android Engineer in the Payments team, you'll be instrumental in building mobile-first payment experiences on one of the fastest-growing platforms. The role involves working with Airbnb's in-house global payments platform that handles billions of dollars across 191 countries in 75 currencies.

You'll join a dynamic team focused on creating innovative payment solutions, including localized payment options, earnings dashboards for hosts, and server-driven UI implementations. Recent projects have involved redesigning mobile payment experiences to drive checkout conversion and modernizing native foundations through platform compliance upgrades.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple agile product teams, making significant impacts for both guests and hosts worldwide. You'll collaborate with talented mobile engineers, product managers, and designers to create efficient, reusable components and architect scalable solutions. This remote position includes competitive compensation ($185,000 - $223,000), with opportunities to occasionally work from Airbnb offices or attend offsites. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of Android development experience, strong expertise in Kotlin/Java and Jetpack Compose, and a proven track record of shipping Android apps.
