Senior Software Engineer, Guest and Host

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Guest and Host team, you'll join the Reputation team, which is at the core of Airbnb's trust platform. This team is responsible for crucial aspects such as reviews, superhost program, standards enforcement, and user insights.

Your role will involve working on a multi-year journey to build a company-wide review platform, modularizing systems, and creating an ecosystem that can expand beyond the current two-sided marketplace. You'll be instrumental in redefining the Reviews space for Airbnb, driving large initiatives across various products and services, and coordinating with cross-functional partners.

Key responsibilities include designing and delivering high-quality products, creating best practices within the reviews and insights space, and leading efforts to architect and launch solutions for review flows and data provision. You'll also provide critical input on team roadmaps and technical direction, influencing stakeholders to adopt team goals.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with expertise in designing large-scale production systems. Proficiency in backend server languages like Ruby, Java, or Kotlin is required, along with knowledge of storage systems including relational databases, noSQL, and caching. Experience with service-oriented architecture and working in cross-functional teams is crucial.
