Senior Staff Software Engineer, Network Infrastructure

Airbnb, a global leader in the travel and hospitality industry, is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join their Network Infrastructure team. This role sits within the Cloud Infrastructure organization, where you'll be responsible for the entire production network infrastructure that powers Airbnb's worldwide operations.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud native network stack technologies from Layer4 to Layer7. You'll be part of the Network/Edge Experience team, contributing to critical infrastructure components that connect Airbnb's global user base to their services. The role involves working with open source technologies like Kubernetes and Istio, and collaborating with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) community.

As a senior technical leader, you'll drive major initiatives including global traffic load balancing, disaster recovery, next-generation service mesh, and edge security. The role requires deep expertise in infrastructure, with at least 12 years of relevant experience and a strong background in running large-scale edge systems in public cloud environments.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $244,000 to $300,000 USD, plus equity and travel benefits. While the role is remote-eligible within the US, you'll have opportunities to work occasionally from Airbnb offices and attend offsites.
