Airbnb is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Community Support Platform (CSP) team, specifically focusing on their Chatbot Product initiative. This role is at the forefront of revolutionizing Airbnb's customer service through AI integration. The CSP is a critical system that powers Airbnb's global customer support operations, enabling their Community Support ambassadors to deliver exceptional service efficiently.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be instrumental in creating innovative user experiences for AI-driven customer service products, including tools, actions, and solutions to power the AI Assistant. You'll work with a diverse team of talented engineers, helping shape the technical vision and delivering scalable solutions that combine AI capabilities with human expertise.

The role offers a competitive base salary range of $204,000 - $255,000 USD, plus potential bonus, equity, and Employee Travel Credits. This is a remote position within the US, requiring occasional office visits or offsite attendance as needed.   • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy
  • Drive, lead, and contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch
  • Review code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks
  • Nurture a culture of technical quality from design, through code review, to production operations

Requirements For Staff Software Engineer, Community Support Platform - Chatbot

  • 9+ years of relevant software development experience in a fast paced tech environment
  • Strong expertise with backend systems in service-oriented architectures
  • Experience with LLM driven chatbot and Agentic AI products would be a big plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's/PhD degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
  • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
