Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Communication & Connectivity

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer in the Communication & Connectivity team, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing Airbnb's customer experiences through innovative ML approaches.

You'll join a community focused on connecting Airbnb's users with the right information at the right time, tailoring Messaging & Notifications to streamline host operations and enhance guest experiences. Your work will involve developing ML approaches for recommendation engines, ranking systems, intent detection, and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) to bring intelligence to existing systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Envisioning, championing, and supporting novel ML systems and product integrations
• Leading and mentoring software engineers and applied scientists
• Raising the AI/ML skillset within the organization
• Transforming early-stage concepts into reality

The ideal candidate will have:

• 9+ years of software engineering experience
• Expertise in designing and developing scalable AI and ML systems
• A passion for building ML-powered products
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Proactive and curious nature with excellent communication skills

This US-remote position offers a competitive salary range of $204,000 - $259,000 USD, with potential for bonuses, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
