Security Engineer

Airwallex, a unified payments and financial platform for global businesses, is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Information Security Team. The role involves working across infrastructure, app security, Corporate IT, and broader engineering functions. Reporting to the Security Engineering Lead, you'll be crucial in identifying, protecting, detecting, responding to, and recovering from cybersecurity threats.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with internal teams to analyze and improve security of applications and services
• Designing, developing, and evaluating new security controls
• Performing incident response and threat hunting
• Implementing custom detection strategies and workflows
• Analyzing and developing secure systems integration and maintenance
• Using various tools to analyze, identify, and mitigate threats
• Designing and maintaining cybersecurity infrastructure projects
• Conducting system and network assessments
• Performing digital forensics

The ideal candidate should have:

• A degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or similar
• 3-5 years of experience in security engineering or incident response
• Experience with Cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
• Coding skills (Python, Java, or similar)
• In-depth understanding of attacker tools and techniques
• Knowledge of software development tools and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred qualifications include experience with Splunk, Okta, GSuite, and cloud-based VPN services, as well as published cybersecurity articles or blogs.
