Description For Security Engineer II

Airwallex, valued at US$5.6 billion, is seeking a Security Engineer II to join their Information Security Team in Shanghai. As a unified payments and financial platform serving over 100,000 global businesses, we're looking for a skilled security professional to help protect our infrastructure and applications.

In this role, you'll work directly with the Security Engineering Lead, collaborating across IT, product, and engineering teams. You'll be responsible for identifying, protecting, detecting, responding to, and recovering from cybersecurity threats. This dynamic position requires expertise in security infrastructure, incident response, and threat analysis.

The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of security engineering experience, strong coding abilities in Python or Java, and cloud platform knowledge. You'll work with cutting-edge security tools and technologies, performing everything from threat hunting to forensic analysis. Your work will directly impact the security posture of a rapidly growing fintech company that serves major clients like Brex, Rippling, Navan, Qantas, and SHEIN.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer II

  • Partner with teams to analyze applications and drive security improvements
  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate new security controls
  • Perform incident response and threat hunting
  • Design and implement custom detection strategies
  • Analyze and develop secure systems integration
  • Use endpoint, network and cloud tools for threat analysis
  • Design and maintain cybersecurity infrastructure
  • Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents
  • Perform security assessments of systems and networks
  • Conduct threat tracking and analysis
  • Perform network navigation and forensic analysis
  • Identify and preserve digital forensic evidence

Requirements For Security Engineer II

Python
Java
  • Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or similar technical course
  • 3-5 years of experience in security engineering or incident response
  • Experience with Cloud platforms (GCP or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with coding languages (Python, Java or similar)
  • In-depth understanding of attacker tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of common software development tools and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Splunk and security monitoring tools (preferred)
  • Experience with Okta, GSuite and cloud based VPN services (preferred)
