Senior Software Engineer Backend, Cards

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer Backend for their Cards & Spend Management team. As part of this role, you'll work on exciting initiatives across the international payments platform, delivering business outcomes through cloud-native, Kotlin-based microservices. You'll be responsible for designing and building new capabilities, conducting architectural reviews, reducing tech debt, and enhancing operational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing microservices and exposing them via GraphQL to a React frontend
• Working with Kafka events/messaging as a key part of the architecture
• Designing and building new capabilities to support the product roadmap
• Conducting architectural reviews of new and current solutions
• Reducing tech debt and enhancing operational effectiveness (e.g., MTTD and MTTR)
