Senior Software Engineer, Payments Platform (Relocate to Amsterdam)

This role involves designing and implementing new capabilities, developing REST services within a microservices architecture, conducting architectural reviews, and addressing tech debt. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in modern engineering practices, strong computer science fundamentals with a focus on Java or Kotlin, expertise in REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement new capabilities aligned with the product roadmap
• Develop REST services and integration components within a backend microservices architecture
• Conduct architectural reviews for current and upcoming solutions
• Address tech debt and enhance operational effectiveness

Required Skills:

• 5+ years experience in modern engineering methodologies
• Strong computer science fundamentals, with recent focus on Java or Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot
• Expertise in REST APIs, high-volume distributed systems, Kafka event streams, and distributed data storage systems
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Skills in Javascript / Typescript and operational tooling (New Relic, StatsD, Elk, Datadog, Prometheus)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in developing payment gateways, acquiring platforms, or issuing platforms
• Expertise in integrating Local Payment Methods or major Cards
