Description For Staff Software Engineer, Cards & Spend Management

Airwallex, valued at US$5.6 billion, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Cards & Spend Management team in San Francisco. This role involves leading multiple engineering streamlines within the Budget and Expense Management team, solving complex challenges around credit cards and expenses. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in modern engineering practices, strong computer science fundamentals, and experience with high-volume distributed systems and event-driven architectures. They should excel in leadership, product thinking, and business acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to define the tech vision of the business domain
  • Clear roadblocks and provide guidance to teams
  • Work with global stakeholders
  • Ensure overall quality and delivery of engineering streamlines

Technical Skills:

  • Java or Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot
  • Experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS
  • Familiarity with operational tools like New Relic, StatsD, Elk, Datadog, Prometheus
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
