Staff Software Engineer, Developer Experience

The Developer Experience (DevX) team at Airwallex is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead and enhance our customer's developer journey. This role is crucial in providing an intuitive onboarding experience and comprehensive developer tools that enable businesses to grow without borders.

As a Staff Software Engineer in Developer Experience, you will:

• Spearhead the development of a cutting-edge user and data analytics pipeline
• Ensure our APIs adhere to the highest standards and conventions
• Create a world-class developer portal and documentation, integrating AI as a core feature
• Contribute to open-source projects and foster a vibrant developer community
• Incorporate the latest technologies to elevate our tech stack
• Develop external tools and services for our customers
• Collaborate across teams to refine and streamline the developer experience

We're looking for candidates with:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, focusing on API development
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Expertise in RESTful API design principles and patterns
• Proficiency in backend technologies, preferably Java or Kotlin with Spring/Spring Boot
• Experience with automated testing and quality control processes
• Proven track record working on high-volume distributed systems
• Strong cloud experience, preferably with GCP or AWS, including Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with observability tools like Splunk, NewRelic, Prometheus, and Grafana
