Staff Software Engineer, Lending

Airwallex, valued at US$5.6 billion, is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join their lending team in Singapore. As a unified payments and financial platform, we serve over 100,000 businesses worldwide, including prominent names like Brex, Rippling, and SHEIN.

The role focuses on building a state-of-the-art lending platform and credit products suite. You'll be part of a Singapore-based team with global ownership, working on embedded finance & credit product capabilities. As a Staff Backend Engineer, you'll lead technical initiatives, mentor other engineers, and drive architectural decisions. The role requires expertise in Java/Kotlin, distributed systems, and cloud technologies. You'll work with modern tools and frameworks while ensuring high quality and scalability of solutions.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of engineering experience, with 2+ years in a staff-level position. Strong fundamentals in computer science, distributed systems, and API design are essential. Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and observability tools is required.
