In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our custom-built applications through effective use of Atlassian tools. You will be responsible for administering and enhancing our Atlassian environment, developing and maintaining custom scripts, and designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.

As an Atlassian Systems Engineer, you will collaborate closely with development teams to understand their needs and provide technical support, solutions, and training. Your expertise in scripting languages, database management, and both Linux and Windows environments will be vital in optimizing our systems and workflows. Additionally, you will actively participate in Agile/Scrum or Kanban ceremonies and work with various Atlassian features to automate processes and improve productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, enhance, and optimize Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and SQL databases for high performance.
  • Develop and maintain custom scripts using Adaptavist ScriptRunner and Groovy.
  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.

  • Develop IT Asset Management using "Assets" (formerly known as Insights).
  • Install, update, and maintain Atlassian services in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Document developed scripts, workflows, and processes comprehensively.
  • Resolve issues with Jira Projects and Confluence in coordination with project leads and provide training for employees on usage and new functionalities.
  • Build workflows and automation for self-serve Atlassian product usage, integrating state-of-the-art technical solutions, and managing permissions for Jira Projects/Boards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Git, version control, and building CI/CD pipelines.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and plugins (ScriptRunner, Structure, Zephyr Squad/Scale).
  • Extensive scripting experience with Groovy, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and/or Perl.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows servers, and databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Hands-on experience with API manipulation, installing, upgrading, integrating, and supporting Atlassian products.
  • Expertise in the Atlassian product suite for both on-prem Data Center and Cloud (SaaS).
  • Ability to design schema configurations and templates to optimize business processes, and familiarity with APIs for automation.
  • Experience with scripting-based automation solutions and custom plugin development using Atlassian SDK/Forge with Java and Groovy.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and a strong mindset for security and risk.
  • Understanding of systems engineering protocols (DNS, DHCP) and experience with Active Directory and SSO concepts/tools (Okta, ADFS) is a plus.
  • Atlassian Certifications Highly Desired (ACP-100, ACP-120, etc.)
