Description For Quality Engineer

Alarm.com, the leading cloud-based platform for smart security and IoT, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their Client Team. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality of web and mobile applications that serve over 6 million customers worldwide.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in IoT, SaaS, and M2M, including wireless communication, video monitoring, and smart home automation. You'll be part of a team that's innovating in AI, video analytics, facial recognition, and machine learning.

As a Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for comprehensive testing and certification of applications, working closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Software Engineering, UX design, and DevOps. Responsibilities For Quality Engineer

  • Understanding product functionality, data content, and system architecture
  • Developing test plans and updating test documentation
  • Executing manual tests, tracking defects, and following defects through resolution
  • Interacting with Developers, Stakeholders and Product Management
  • Setting up and maintaining test environments and testing tools
  • Triaging urgent problems and proposing resolutions
  • Analyzing logs and data to identify root causes
  • Designing and maintaining weekly smoke tests
  • Being an advocate for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders

Requirements For Quality Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant discipline
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, time management, and analysis skills
  • Ability to work independently and take corrective action
  • Experience with hardware, software, and network technologies
  • Process-oriented with attention to details
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong technical background and interest in product quality
  • Team-oriented individual
  • Background in Quality Engineering preferred
  • Experience with functional and regression testing preferred
