Description For Quality Engineer

Alarm.com is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their Video Team, responsible for video surveillance solutions. This role involves testing network devices and configurations on multiple software platforms, collaborating with technology teams to ensure product quality. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional communication skills, and is passionate about driving quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and updating test plans and documentation
  • Executing tests, logging defects, and following through resolution
  • Analyzing new product features and developing testing infrastructure
  • Interacting with Software Engineers, Product Management, and Suppliers
  • Setting up and maintaining test environments and equipment
  • Applying test methodology in product certification
  • Ensuring successful weekly software and web deployments
  • Understanding customer needs and product usage

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Information Technology
  • 1-2 years of QA experience in an agile environment
  • Attention to detail and clear communication skills
  • Initiative-taking and problem-solving abilities
  • Team-focused with a 'Willing to Learn' mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of networking and device configuration
  • Experience with functional and regression testing
  • Advanced computer/technology skills/certifications
  • Working knowledge of Linux and command line prompts
