Description For Sales Engineer - LATAM

Alarm.com, a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company, is seeking a Sales Engineer to join their talented international team working from Bogota. The role focuses on two main areas:

  1. Driving the Technical Onboarding process to ensure new partners have all the training and tools they need to succeed.
  2. Managing a subset of Alarm.com's key international partners to ensure they efficiently utilize the full suite of Alarm.com services and tools.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for technology, a consultative and entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to drive and manage relationships internally across departments and externally with partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing product support and training to partners via webinars and on-site visits
  • Gather feedback from the field to improve products and processes
  • Represent Alarm.com at trade shows and events
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Alarm.com products and features
  • Create training materials (presentations, technical guides, videos)
  • Conduct local and remote tests for new features
  • Drive adoption of key tools impacting partners' business operations

Requirements:

  • BA or BS, preferably in Engineering, Math, or Sciences
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in consumer, cloud, and IoT technology
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in high-volume periods
  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • Availability to travel up to 50% within the LATAM region

Experience with intrusion detection systems, access control, home automation, or video over IP is a plus.

Responsibilities For Sales Engineer - LATAM

  • Provide valuable ongoing product support and training to partners via webinars and on-site
  • Champion and advocate for partner requirements by gathering feedback from the field on how we can improve our product and processes
  • Represent Alarm.com at various trade shows and events
  • Demonstrate in-depth and current understanding of all existing and new Alarm.com product release features to respond to partner inquiries properly
  • Creating training materials like presentations, technical guides, and videos to facilitate the ongoing training process for partners
  • Conducting local and remote tests for new features in close cooperation with Product Managers and Quality Engineers
  • Drive the adoption of key tools that have an impact on the business operation of partners

Requirements For Sales Engineer - LATAM

  • BA or BS, Engineering, Math, or sciences preferred
  • The ability to communicate in English with vendors and internal teams, both in writing and verbally, in a clear, professional manner
  • A self-starter who can operate independently
  • Proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of consumer, cloud, and IoT technology
  • Strong people skills; natural customer service orientation and disposition
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • The ability and commitment to meet deadlines, even during high-volume periods
  • Flexible and positive attitude that fosters team spirit
  • Availability to travel up to 50% within the LATAM region
