Description For Antenna Calibration Engineer

ALL.SPACE is seeking an Antenna Calibration Engineer to work with state-of-the-art over-the-air antenna testing facilities for Ku- and Ka-band satcom terminals. This role involves leading the set-up and operation of new Compact Antenna Test Ranges (CATR) in both the UK and US. The position offers a unique opportunity to drive technical development of novel calibration and measurement systems to production standards. You'll work with advanced RF infrastructure, including active RF networks, satcom terminals, and various RF test equipment. The role combines RF/antenna expertise with software development, using MATLAB and Python to control and synchronize measurement systems. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about RF engineering, antenna systems, and software integration, offering the chance to work on cutting-edge satellite communication technology while developing both technical and leadership skills.

Responsibilities For Antenna Calibration Engineer

  • Commission and run state-of-the-art Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) systems
  • Run calibration and verification measurements of terminals as part of production
  • Run over-the-air development activity in the CATR for next-generation terminals
  • Maintain and develop MATLAB control scripts for the CATR system
  • Develop, calibrate, and verify the performance of the calibration system
  • Integrate calibration methodologies into system frameworks
  • Develop scripts to validate system functionality
  • Develop statistical confidence level indications for chamber calibrations
  • Document calibration procedures, methodologies, and results
  • Generate reports summarizing findings
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders

Requirements For Antenna Calibration Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Physics, or related field. Master's degree preferred
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab
  • Experience with calibration and verification of antenna elements such as active phased arrays, low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, frequency conversion, ADC & DAC
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with over the air RF measurements in anechoic chambers (preferred)
  • Solid understanding of antenna principles, including digital and analog circuits, signal processing, and communication protocols (preferred)
