Alo, a leading activewear company, is seeking a Raw Material Developer to join their innovative team. The company is dedicated to mindful movement and creating high-performance studio-to-street apparel that seamlessly transitions from yoga practice to daily life.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of material innovation and development, working with premium textiles to create fabrics that perfectly balance performance and style. You'll be responsible for developing and validating materials that meet Alo's exacting standards for durability, comfort, and functionality.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with global mills, manage comprehensive testing protocols, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative materials to life. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring that every fabric meets the highest standards for movement, comfort, and wearability.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of fabric development experience, deep knowledge of performance textiles, and expertise in both knit and woven constructions. You should be well-versed in AATCC and ASTM testing protocols and have experience working directly with top-tier mills.

This role offers a competitive base salary range of $90,000-$100,000, with additional benefits including performance bonuses, long-term incentives, and a progressive PTO policy. Responsibilities For Raw Material Developer

  • Create and execute materials that align with Alo's design vision and technical performance needs
  • Oversee testing, risk assessments, and performance evaluations of fabrics
  • Manage material wear-testing process with cross-functional teams
  • Work with cross-functional partners to refine material choices
  • Provide technical guidance on material transitions from development to bulk production
  • Work directly with global mills to develop and refine fabrics
  • Ensure fabric development aligns with key milestones and delivery timelines
  • Manage sampling process for prototyping and SMS sampling
  • Stay ahead of fabric advancements and industry trends

Requirements For Raw Material Developer

  • 6+ years in fabric development with understanding of performance textiles
  • Expertise in knit and woven constructions and finishing techniques
  • Experience working with top tier mills
  • Knowledge of AATCC and ASTM testing protocols
  • Ability to advise on material selection and refinement
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in PLM systems and Excel
