Senior Analytics Engineer

Alpaca, a rapidly growing Series B fintech company with over $120M in funding, is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead their data transformation initiatives. The company operates as an API-first stock and crypto platform, enabling developers and businesses worldwide to build trading algorithms, applications, and brokerage services.

The role involves leading the vision for the transformation layer of Alpaca's data platform, which processes hundreds of millions of events daily. Working with a globally distributed team of 150+ members, you'll be responsible for integrating data from various sources including transactional databases, API logs, CRMs, payment systems, and marketing platforms.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with open-source solutions on Google Cloud Platform, utilizing dbt and Trino query engine to build data models. You'll collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists while serving stakeholders across finance, operations, customer success, and the executive team.

Key technical aspects include working with Python, SQL, and various data transformation tools. The role requires expertise in building scalable transformation layers, CI/CD practices, and cloud environments. You'll be instrumental in ensuring data quality, maintaining development standards, and creating efficient data delivery systems.
